Chris Butsch is a best-selling author, professional speaker, and expert at positively engaging Generations Y (b. 1982-2000) and Z (b. 2000-) in the workplace. His unique approach combines workplace futurism and positive psychology; he’s been called “The Simon Sinek of Millennials.”
Driven to help young people reach their full potential in life and the workplace, Chris published his first and best-selling book, The Millennial’s Guide to Making Happiness, in 2017. His upcoming book, Awesome Boss: How to Hire, Engage, and Retain Employees Under 30 will help business leaders manage young generations, and Millennials master their first leadership roles.

The Long Version:
Despite having graduated from a top American university and secured a job with a powerful IT firm, Chris was diagnosed with depression at age 24. Determined to help himself and millions of other young people build happier, more fulfilling lives, he quit his job to travel the world and study happiness. Working with farmers in Mexico, tuk-tuk drivers in Rajasthan, Buddhist monks in Bhutan, and positive psychologists in America, he extracted a practical formula for “making happiness.”

-Millennials, primarily business leaders, hoping to gain insight into the psychology of this unique working generation (b. 1982-2000).
Seeing a need to help business leaders hire, retain, and engage young employees, Chris pivoted to studying the world’s happiest workplaces. How are 5 percent of businesses quietly maintaining a hiring monopoly on top young talent? What are they doing differently to inspire young people?
By interviewing hundreds of leaders and young employees in these companies, Chris extracted a second formula: this time to help business leaders maximize young talent. He is publishing his findings in his second book, Awesome Boss: How to Happily Hire, Retain, and Engage Young Employees in fall 2018.
